IMPORTANT: Information for recruitment agencies
We are frequently contacted by and sent CV’s from recruitment agencies who have not been instructed by us in relation to a particular vacancy. Although we are grateful for this interest, we are unable to accept unsolicited or speculative introductions and CVs. We will not be bound by any terms and conditions in relation to attempted introductions and we will not accept any liability for commissions or other charges if we subsequently employ that candidate at that time or subsequently or whether directly or through another agency. If and when agency involvement is required on a particular campaign, our Practice Manager, Gina Newman will contact an agency directly, obtain a documented agreement and request assistance. Where an agency’s correspondence contains a disclaimer indicating otherwise, our policy will prevail in this regard.
Trainee opportunities at Palmers Law
We are always looking to attract dedicated trainees who are keen to showcase their skills and become a fully qualified solicitor.
If accepted as a trainee, we will offer you an initial training contract. From here, you will work within different departments of our company under the direction of the relevant director and heads of department.
During this period, you will need to take part in regular review meetings and training sessions with the director.
In addition to the Professional Skills Course which is taken externally and is, of course, funded, we encourage you to attend other relevant courses.
What we look for in training candidates
We want trainees who are friendly, well-organised and enterprising people who enjoy responsibility.
Applicants must have at least a 2:1 degree and possess a practical and commercial approach to problem solving, can work effectively in a team and are focused on delivering outstanding service to our clients.
How we hire trainees
Whilst we aim to offer all our trainees a job at the end of their training contract, a job offer depends on several factors, including performance during the training contract and the availability of jobs within a department.
We recruit trainee solicitors based on our business needs, and we put the needs of our staff first and will always consider internal promotions before offering roles externally.
If you are interested in the possibility of a training contract at Palmers Solicitors, please contact our HR Manager Kirsty Mead.
You can contact her via email at KirstyMead@palmerslaw.co.uk to request a form and brochure or give her a call at our Basildon office on 01268 240000.
